New System Will Help Sapp Bros. Upgrade Service at 16 Locations in Eight States
DALLAS - August 21, 2008 - Retalix(r) Ltd. (Nasdaq:RTLX), a leading provider of software solutions for retailers and distributors, announced today that Sapp Bros. Travel Centers Inc. (www.sappbrostravelcenters.com) will deploy Retalix StorePoint point-of-sale (POS) and Commercial Fuel solutions in its travel centers and convenience stores along the east-west corridors of Interstate-80 and Interstate-70 from Utah to Pennsylvania.
"The travel center business has several inherent challenges, including the need to support and manage the many payment methods required by long-haul truck fleets," said Bill Sapp, CEO of Sapp Bros. Travel Centers. "That has become costly and complex, but with the Retalix integrated commercial fuel solution, store operations are simplified and customer transaction time is reduced." Retalix offers a broad line of software applications designed for travel centers and convenience stores, from the forecourt to the food court and all through the enterprise to help improve productivity, control costs and increase sales.
In the Sapp Bros. configuration, Retalix StorePoint is integrated with Retalix forecourt automation for both gasoline and commercial fuel, and electronic payment software for the POS and pumps. Through an alliance with Postilion, a division of S1 Corporation (Nasdaq:SONE) that offers payment-switching software, Retalix embraces all aspects of the payment process from POS to processor. In addition, Retalix StorePoint connects with Sapp Bros. Enterprise back office system via the industry-standard PCATS schema.
"Retalix provides an integrated, open platform solution that enables travel centers to shed their high maintenance costs customary with proprietary stand alone systems," said Ray Carlin, executive vice president of Retalix USA. "Retalix StorePoint appeals to multi-concept environments for its clear cost-saving benefits, and as a result, it has vaulted into the #1 position in integrated travel center systems."
